The next president
The next president of the United States is going to have more than the War on Terror on their mind. They are going to have to deal and fix our struggling economy. Our next president will have to try to work to get gas and food prices down. I do not believe our country is in a recession because the numbers prove we are not but if we do go into a recession then it will be a very little one and we will boost right back out of it. But our next president will have to help us.
Burma
Burma was hit with a Cyclone that has left at least 100,000 people dead. The Burma government has made many mistakes in dealing with this natural disaster. They are not letting other countries come in and help them out. I think Burma needs to think about their people instead of thinking about their pride and help out THEIR people or more will end up dead.

Hizballahstan
This country is in a civil war. It is basically miltia's and Lebaneze supporters fighting. People can not even walk the streets without being afraid of being shot. The government really needs to get control of this.
China!
The earthquake that hit China was 7.9. So many people are dead and thousands are missing. The world seems like its just sitting back and watching as China goes through mourning of the lose of their people. Chine really needs help from everyone.

Genetic Discrimination
A bill was just passed in the House of Represenative 414 to 1. The only opposed was Ron Paul. The bill states employers and insurance companies that they may not use the results of genetic tests in choosing their employees and customers. The most important reason for this bill is to keep fairness in the workplace. Obviously you shouldnt be able to not get a job because you have a high risk at cancer, thats discriminating just like employers used to discriminate against black people, and women.
The long view
Although Israel was founded 60 years ago it does not seem any easier. Israelis have had to deal with terrorism all their life including 60 years ago when the Arabs vowed to "take over where the Nazis left off". Israel still has to worry just as much as they did 60 years ago about nuclear attacks, missiles, the Gaza strip, and suicide bombers in their cities.
Why the world can't afford food
There isn’t just one reason food prices are rising it’s actually a number of factors. One reason is poor harvests and restrictive trade policies. There has been droughts and bad weather that affects a lot of exporting regions. Since stocks have lowered some countries put export restrictions just to protect their countries supplies. The 2nd factor is increasing oil prices. The reason this has to do with food is when oil goes up the cost of running a farm goes up and we get most of our food from farms. The 3rd factor is Diversion of crops for biofuels. Since the price of oil is going up people are trying to find a alternative, aka biofuels. This is made from corn or other farm plants. The last factor is increasing demand, especially in China. The people in China and India are buying more expensive food like fruit and meat and less of rice. The price of food is not expected to go down anytime soon.
Burma's Second Agony
The people of Burma suffered from a cyclone in early May, and the Burma government failed too many of their duties. For example the government did not warn their people about the cyclone they had to learn from outside sources. After all of that and not having enough time to prepare for the cyclone the government refused help! Their people are dieing and they could help prevent more casualties but refuse? That doesn’t sound like a great government. Finally the Burma government accepted one ship of relief supplies that will be sent to help the people of Burma. I believe that the Burma government failed their citizens and i hope more people do not die because of their mistake.

The Oroqen
The Oroqen are a group in China who are being assimiated into China. It seemed like it was peacefully. Until the Olympics have came around. We have seen a lot of violenec everywhere in the world. And it seems like no one is happy about where the Olympics are being placed.
Act now eat later
As most of us know the cost of everything is going up. It seemed like it was just gas but recently we now see our food prices rising. Corn has gone up a lot because of biofuel. The US is using a lot of biofuel because we are trying to lean off of oil.But i think that maybe we should slow the process down a little.
The Sins of the Fathers
Police raided this polygamist sect in texas because of phone calls from a teenage girl claming she was pregnet and forced to have sex and marry a man much older. The teenage girl has yet to be found and the police actually think it is a women faking it. So, they took 400 something children out of the sect because of the threat of abuse. The court now has custidy of all the children and the women were told if they were to go back to the ranch they were possibly never going to see their children again. Most of the women went back. Recently they have found evidence of child abuse.
I think that even though the phone call is a hoax they had every right to raid the sect. I really hope they do not give these children back and now hopefully they will live a better life.

Morgan Tsvangirai
Morgan Tsvangirai has always had a problem with Zimbabwes leader Robert Mugabe. Tsvangirai is closer now to throwing out Mugabe. The past couple times Tsvangirai has tryed to take over Zimbabwe his life was at rish but he still is not stopping. He started a group named anti-Mugabe but it broke into two. One reason was because some of the group did not agree with Mugabe.

Nudge
This book is about making better decisions. It's about stuff like, wealth, happiness, & health. I think that is would be a great book for people to read because the state of the ecomoy is in. It could teach us how to have a differnt lifestyle one not so wasteful. This book gives people a nudge (ha the book is named nudge) to save power, but it also gives us a choice! Now who wouldnt enjoy that!?

Olympics
All throughout the years of the Olympics countries have boycotted against the places where they are being played. Theres not much more different about this one besides some of the athletes feel like they might be injured or i heard some might be worried about pollution. French President Nicolas Sarkozy might not go to the Beijing Olympics and some hollywood actors have invoked the idea of a boycott.
Bhutan
On March 24th Bhutan had their first ever political election. Some found it kind of difficult to balance democracy and their traditions at the same time. Buddhism is the main religion in Bhutan. Bhutan is a little kingdom in the Himalayans. When King, Jigme Singye Wangchuck announced he would support a constitutional monarchy with a popularly elected parliament. Most of the citiziens were scared of the idea because they thought it might cause instability. They had good reason to think that because it happened to Nepal and Bangladesh.

Romney as McCains running mate?

“I think any Republican leader in this country would be honored to be asked to serve as the vice presidential nominee, myself included. Of course, this is a nation which needs strong leadership, and if the nominee of our party asked you to serve with him, anyone would be honored to receive that call, and to accept it, of course,”
Of course this doesnt mean John McCain wants Romney. I like Romney but, they havnt really gotten along in the past. But maybe thats what John McCain needs, someone to challenge him! Who knows what will happen. I guess we will just have to wait and see.

News Flash!!! Two Videos
After McCain made his statement about Obama he later came out and said “But I have some news for John McCain, and that is that there was no such thing as Al Qaeda in Iraq until George Bush and John McCain decided to invade Iraq.” WHO CARES?! that was NOT the point. The point is Obama slipped up and the media still is in love with him. The media didnt care when Michelle Obama came out and said this was the first time shes proud of this country. But they jumped all over the fact Willie made bad remarks about Obama opening up for McCain. People later called McCain a wuss and other stupid remarks. It just shows you who side the media is REALLY on.

Michelle Obama FINALLY proud to be an American?
Everyone says stupid stuff. We have come to realize this. But this, is just REALLY stupid. I mean come on. Is this something you want to say when your trying to win over other people? I think not. It is a big turn off. She later came out and told everyone she didnt mean what it sounded like. But i think she should come out with a apology. We should want a first lady that is always proud of this country. Was she proud of this country when she graduated from Harvard? Is she proud to be an American? I think so. But saying something like that does not help her husband. I guess we will find out if this hurts him sooner or later.

Read. Kthanks.
This is a very special email. I don't care what party you are, we should all read it and think about how good we have it.No matter how we feel about the war, at least it isn't on our shores; not yet, anyway.Jay Leno on President Bush (Surprising) It's the Jay Leno we don't often see....The other day I was reading Newsweek magazine and came across some Poll data I found rather hard to believe. It must be true given the source, right? The Newsweek poll alleges that 67% of Americans are unhappy with the direction the country is headed and 69% of the country is unhappy with the performance of the President. In essence 2/3's of the citizenry just ain't happy and want a change.* So being the knuckle dragger I am, I started thinking, ''What we are so unhappy about?''* Is it that we have electricity and running water 24 hours a day, 7 Days a week?* Is our unhappiness the result of having air conditioning in the summer and heating in the winter?* Could it be that 95.4% of these unhappy folks have a job?* Maybe it is the ability to walk into a grocery store at any time and see more food in moments than Darfur has seen in the last year?* Maybe it is the ability to drive from the Pacific Ocean to the Atlantic Ocean without having topresent identification papers as we move through each state?* Or possibly the hundreds of clean and safe motels we would find along the way that can provide temporary shelter?* I guess having thousands of restaurants with varying cuisine from around the world is just not good enough.* Or could it be that when we wreck our car, emergency workers show up and provide services to help all and even send a helicopter to take you to the hospital.* Perhaps you are one of the 70% of Americans who own a home.* You may be upset with knowing that in the unfortunate case of a fire, a group of trained firefighters will appear in moments and use top notch equipment to extinguish the flames thus saving you, your family and your belongings.* Or if, while at home watching one of your many flat screen TVs, a burglar or prowler intrudes, an officer equipped with a gun and a bullet-proof vest will come to defend you and your family against attack or loss.* This all in the backdrop of a neighborhood free of bombs or militias raping and pillaging the residents. Neighborhoods where 90% of teenagers own cell phones and computers.* How about the complete religious, social and political freedoms we enjoy that are the envy of everyone in the world?Maybe that is what has 67% of you folks unhappy. Fact is, we are the largest group of ungrateful, spoiled brats the world has ever seen. No wonder the world loves the U.S., yet has a great disdain for its citizens. They see us for what we are. The most blessed people in the world who do nothing but complain about what we don't have, and what we hate about the country instead of thanking the good Lord we live here.I know, I know. What about the president who took us into war and has no plan to get us out?The president who has a measly 31% approval rating? Is this the same president who guided the nation in the dark days after 9/11/01?The president that cut taxes to bring an economy out of recession?Could this be the same guy who has been called every name in the book for succeeding in keeping all the spoiled ungrateful brats safe from terrorist attacks? The commander in chief of an all-volunteer army that is out there defending you and me?Did you hear how bad the President is on the news or talk show?Did this news affect you so much, make you so unhappy you couldn't take a look around for yourself and see all the good things and be glad?Think about it......are you upset at the President because he actually caused you personal pain OR is it because the 'Media' told you he was failing to kiss your sorry ungrateful behind every day.Make no mistake about it.The troops in Iraq and Afghanistan have volunteered to serve, and in many cases may have died for your freedom. There is currently no draft in this country. They didn't have to go. They are able to refuse to go and end up with either a ''general'' discharge, an ''other than honorable'' discharge or, worst case scenario, a ''dishonorable'' discharge after a few days in the brig.So why then the flat-out discontentment in the minds of 69% of Americans?Say what you want but I blame it on the media. If it bleeds, it leads and they specialize in bad news.Everybody will watch a car crash with blood and guts. How many will watch kids selling lemonade at the corner? The media knows this and media outlets are for-profit corporations. They offer whatsells, and when criticized, try to defend their actions by 'justifying' them in one way or another.Just ask why they tried to allow a murderer like O.J.Simpson to write a book about how he didn't kill his wife, but if he did he would have done it this way......Insane!Stop buying the negativism you are fed everyday by the media. Shut off the TV, burn Newsweek, and use the New York Times for the bottom of your bird cage. Then start being grateful for all we have as a country. There is exponentially more good than bad.We are among the most blessed people on Earth and should thank God several times a day, or at least be thankful and appreciative. With hurricanes, tornados, fires out of control, mud slides, flooding, severe thunderstorms tearing up the country from one end to another, and with the threat of bird flu and terrorist attacks, Are we sure this is a good time to take God out of the Pledge of Allegiance? Please keep this in circulation. There are so many people that need to read this and grasp the truth of it all.

It's in the valleys i grow
Sometimes life seems hard to bear,
Full of sorrow, trouble and woe
It’s then I have to remember
That it’s in the valleys I grow.
If I always stayed on the mountaintop
And never experienced pain,
I would never appreciate God’s love
And would be living in vain.
I have so much to learn
And my growth is very slow,
Sometimes I need the mountaintops,
But it’s in the valleys I grow.
I do not always understand
Why things happen as they do,
But I am very sure of one thing,
My Lord will see me through.
My little valleys are nothing
When I picture Christ on the cross
He went through the valley of death;
His victory was Satan’s loss
Forgive me Lord for complaining
When I’m feeling so very low.
Just give me a gentle reminder
That it’s in the valleys I grow.
Continue to strengthen me, Lord
And use my life each day
To share your love with others
And help them find their way.
Thank you for the valleys, Lord,
For this one thing I know:
The mountain tops are glorious,But it’s in the valleys that I grow!
Full of sorrow, trouble and woe
It’s then I have to remember
That it’s in the valleys I grow.
If I always stayed on the mountaintop

"Change"
Iv been watching the news and such and all i see is news about Oboma & Hilary. Sometimes Mccain & Romeny but thats once in a good while. I dont understand how Oboma expects to change America. I mean its a great idea our economy is not doing so good and a lot of people do not agree with the war in iraq. (i'm not one of those people) But, i just dont think he can do it. It has nothing to do with him being black. & i dont know why people use that as an excuse because he sure doesnt. He is a good person i think, i just dont know if he could keep us safe and thats what im most worried about. & Hilary Clinton oooooo goodness. I dont like her, AT ALL. & i have my reasons i'm not jut one of those stupid people who doesnt know what they are talking about. ANYWAYS, she doesnt stand for what i believe in and i dont see how someone can be such a fenimist when her husband cheated on her in the white house & she stayed with him. I MEAN COME ON! I'd kick him right out the door. But, i realize this was all her plan. I still dont think she's strong enough to lead our country. Especially the war on terror. & her laugh bugs me. What? Tj can like Borocks ears but i cant not like Hilarys laugh? Its annoying and you all know it.

The name Peterson is it a curse?
It defiantly seems like it! As just about everyone knows Scott Peterson was convicted of murder. He killed his wife Lacey and his unborn child. The recent case that has popped up when Stacy Peterson mysteriously disappeared. Drew Peterson is the husband of Stacy and is the main suspect in her disappearance. Also Drew's previous wife was found dead in the bathtub. Reports said she drowned. But, when they started suspecting drew of Stacy's disappearance they dug up Drew's previous wife and did a autopsy. They officially determined she did not die by drowning. She died by head trauma and said it was a murder. Drew still denies any involvement in either cases. He recently has claimed to get a letter from an anonymous writer saying Stacy told the writer to "just mind your own business" and "please don't ruin my life." Drew Peterson has still not been charged.

Review of Immigration Nation
One of the authors main ideas is that Americans are not as divided on the issue of Immigration as we may think. Most of the people want the borders to be tougher because they want the immigrants to earn living here. I do not agree with that because, i believe a lot of Americans are scared of new immigrants because they feel threatened. Which is understandable but completely wrong. Some try to say they want the borders to be tougher because the threat of terrorism. Maybe some people think that but most Americans just do not want any more people here especially Mexicans because, they're stereo-type currently is dirty, poor, and lazy. But if you look back in time really, every different ethnicity group that has came to America has went through those same stereo-types. It's what you should expect. A threat that comes with illegal immigrants is job security. Which the construction industry is famous for employing illegals. The construction industry creates some 185,000 jobs annually. Seeing that is it possible they can not get Americans to do the job? Or is it they do not want to pay as much. A lot of the evidence shows they don't want to pay as much as they would with Americans. Over 12 million illegal immigrants are living and working in this country. So, knowing that does that now make you worried about terrorism? It does Veteran Border Patrol Agent who said, "What if another 9/11 happens, and it happens on my watch? What if the bastards come across here in Arizona and i don't catch them because I'm so busy chasing your next busboy or my next gardener that I don't have time to do my real job-catching terrorists" Should we really be worrying about the next busboy? Or should we find the real problem catching people who are our enemies. Overall this article is very educational and full of information that someone who does not know about immigration should read. The author of this article is trying to say we do not need to spend so much time worrying about the people who want a better life, but the people who just want to hurt us.

Immigration
In the United States immigration is a growing problem. Some say it's not as big as a problem as we might think. Some others think we should close the borders and not let anyone in. But if you go back in history is that really what America is about? America was about coming over and living the dream and having a good life. Now we are saying no one els can come here because we were here first. I understand people's concern about crime and such but really, that's not what they care about. It happens to every different race when they come to American right now it just happens to be the Mexicans. It happened with the Irish, and the Asians. People will get over it. Immigration is just the way our society grows and that's why America is so great we are not like Iraq, or China we have all different types of society's into one. It might cause some problems in the short term but in the long run it will only do us good.
